EDU 270 - Supporting ESL Students in the Regular Classroom

1 credit hour - Three hours weekly; five weeks.
Discover theories of language acquisition, describe characteristics of ESL (English language learners) students and dispel myths about second language learners. Examine challenges that English language learners face in the regular classroom and how learning strategies may be adapted to assist the students meet these challenges. This course is intended for regular classroom teachers and teaching assistants and not intended for those Refer toking an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) credential.
