EET 260 - Electronic Communication Systems

4 credit hours - Four hours combined lecture and lab weekly; one term.
Learn the technologies and concepts used in current day electronic communication circuits and systems.  Explore AM/FM modulation, digital data transmission, signal transmission and reception, wired and wireless communications, satellites, networking and their supporting infrastructures.  Demonstrate comprehension through hands-on labs while utilizing various electronic troubleshooting and analytic tools.  Lab fee $25.

Prerequisite(s): EET 130 .

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Explain the basics of AM and FM wave modulation.
  2. Differentiate between wired and wireless communication concepts.
  3. Compare and contrast the properties of digital and analog waves.
  4. Explain the various infrastructures used in current day communication systems.
  5. Utilize electronic equipment to analyze basic wave forms.
  6. Build basic circuits to perform signal transmission and reception functions.
