ART 201 - Drawing 33 credit hours - Two hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory weekly; one term. Experience an enhanced studio atmosphere that encourages personal investigation through the use of conventional and unconventional drawing media. Discover theories and practices with emphasis on individual expression. Explore portraiture, figure drawing and landscape. Lab fee $40.
Prerequisite(s): ART 200 or permission of department chair.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate mastery of a variety of drawing materials.
- Demonstrate mastery of various drawing techniques including mixed media.
- Create drawings that demonstrate mastery of the principles of composition.
- Demonstrate familiarity with a variety figures & artworks from art history and the global art community.
- Critique artwork using standards set forth in classroom lectures and discussions.
- Explore scale in the creation of drawings.
- Develop a series of artworks with personal thematic content.
