DAN 122 - Beginning Modern Dance 22 credit hours - One hour of lecture and two hours of studio weekly; one term. Continuation of the study of modern dance with an emphasis on spatial awareness, expression of movement and proficiency in locomotive movements. May be repeated once for a total of four credit hours.
Prerequisite(s): Any beginning-level dance course or permission of department chair.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Develop the skills of contemporary/modern dance.
- Demonstrate accuracy of taught movement material.
- Increase range of motion in the body that showcases class vocabulary.
- Develop a sense of artistry.
- Gain the ability to move to multiple musical styles.
