HEB 113 - Elementary Biblical Hebrew 13 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement.
Develop vocabulary and grammar skills for reading and writing Biblical Hebrew.
Note: This course is not designed to teach spoken modern Hebrew. It focuses solely on reading, writing, and translating biblical (ancient) Hebrew.
Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Use novice-mid level grammatical and syntactical elements of Biblical Hebrew.
- Read and write Biblical Hebrew at a novice-mid level.
- Translate Biblical Hebrew passages with the aid of a dictionary.
- Discuss elements of Hebrew and non-Hebrew civilizations of the ancient Middle East.
