PHE 101 - Kettlebells1 credit hour - Two hours weekly; one term. Explore this introductory kettlebell course to improve physical fitness. Students will learn the basics of the deadlift, swing (two and one-handed), the Turkish get-up, squat, clean, press, and more. Experience a full body workout while building strength, endurance, and conditioning. Students will be introduced to mobility/flexibility drills, skill drills, kettlebell complexes/chains, and finishers. No prior experience is required. Lab fee $15.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Identify and discuss the general history, philosophy, and methodology of kettlebell training.
- Identify, discuss, and demonstrate kettlebell safety.
- Demonstrate the use of mobility complexes.
- Demonstrate the proper usage of the kettlebell using appropriate exercise guidelines and techniques.
- Design a kettlebell training program specific to the individual’s fitness needs and goals.
