SCI 101H - Introduction to Research - Honors1 credit hour - One hour of lecture weekly; one term. This is an Honors course.
Investigate the process of conducting research, from initial literature reviews to project outline and data collection. Engage in AACC research projects and in field trips to research facilities in the local Chesapeake region. Design a research project to conduct with a faculty mentor at AACC.
Prerequisite(s): Eligibility for ENG 101 /ENG 101A and eligibility for honors courses.
Crosslisted: Also offered as SCI 101 ; credit is not given for both SCI 101H and SCI 101 .
Note: This course may include field trips during class time. Transportation will be provided. This course may not transfer to a four year institution to fulfill the honors agreement. Please check with your academic advisor for assistance.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Access, interpret, and analyze scientific literature and other forms of scientific knowledge.

- Apply various research methods in the field or laboratory and record data in a dynamic environment.
- Work collaboratively with others to achieve set goals.
