BPA 162 - Business Communications

3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term.
Study professional written and oral communication, including the preparation and delivery of workplace correspondence, data-driven reports, career search materials and persuasive presentations.

Prerequisite(s): Eligibility for ENG 101 /ENG 101A .

Course Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Produce written and oral communication appropriate for a business environment.
  2. Create and deliver business presentations that inform or persuade.
  3. Use data, relevant technology and reliable sources to enhance written and oral business communication.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in essential workplace communication, including active listening, providing constructive feedback, leading or participating in meetings, and managing conflict in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
  5. Build professional communication tools for career success, including résumés, cover letters, social media profiles, and networking skills.
