EDU 230 - Educator Portfolio Development

1 credit hour - Three hours weekly; five weeks.
Learn about setting the purpose of the portfolio, then selecting artifacts that support and enhance that purpose. Develop skills needed to identify, analyze and reflect on artifacts appropriate for inclusion in a portfolio, which documents accomplishments and talents. Examine the alignment and organization of artifacts to reflect growth and learning that have occurred as a result of the creation of each artifact.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Determine the purpose(s) of the portfolio.

4. Discuss various individuals/events that influenced your career choice.

5. Examine personal talents and skills related to the field of education.

6. Discuss the relevancy of artifacts to the purpose(s) of the portfolio.

7. Examine personal growth related to each selected artifact.

8. Design a portfolio that effectively highlights educational or job accomplishments.
