MAS 110 - Fundamentals of Massage Therapy7 credit hours - 60 hours of lecture and 90 hours of college laboratory. Formerly MAS 110 - Swedish Massage
Learn musculoskeletal anatomy for the massage therapist, and the basic theory and techniques necessary for administering Swedish relaxation massage. Lab fee $60.
Prerequisite(s): MAS 100 with a grade of C or better.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate competency in Swedish massage techniques
2. Demonstrate a working knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, specifically origins, insertions and actions of the major muscles of the body
3. Discuss professionalism, ethics, laws and regulations for the massage therapist
4. Discuss the importance of self-care for massage therapists, and utilize proper body mechanics to safely and effectively perform massage
5. Describe introductory methods of client assessment and documentation used by massage therapists
