THA 121 - Stagecraft3 credit hours - Two hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory weekly; one term. This course meets the Technology Requirement.
Explore the aspects of backstage theatrical work in a lecture/laboratory setting. Analyze, interpret, and design your own digital technical drafting. Utilize power tools and modern construction techniques to construct modular scenic platforms and flats as well as custom-designed theatrical sets. Classify, install, and operate theatrical lighting and audio equipment. Lab fee $60.
Note: Recommended to take this course prior to enrolling or concurrently enrolled with THA 180 .

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply proper safety procedures and equipment in a theatrical production environment.

- Employ appropriate operations for backstage electrical aspects.
- Utilize fundamental scenic artistry painting techniques in appropriate contexts.
