CTA 114 - Fundamentals of Microsoft Excel

1 credit hour - One to five hours weekly; one term.
Learn the fundamentals of using Excel to create, manipulate, and analyze data. Use mathematical, statistical, logical, and financial formulas and functions on data sets. Sort, filter, and create visual representations of data sets. Acquire hands-on skills with Microsoft Excel. Lab fee $25.

Note: Users with no prior software applications experience are encouraged to take one of the following before taking this course: CTA 100  or CTA 103 .

Course Outcomes:
 

  1. Apply formatting to data using Excel.

  2. Perform mathematical calculations using functions in Excel.

  3. Create visual representations of data using Excel.

  4. Filter data in Excel.
