CTP 114 - Introduction to Python with AI

3 credit hours - Two hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory weekly; one term.
Learn the basic principles of programming with limited or no prior programming experience required. Using the industry-standard programming language Python assisted with AI, explore key concepts such as variables, data types, decision-making, repetition, data structures, API’s, and more.

Prerequisite(s): Eligibility for ENG 101 /ENG 101A  and eligibility for any general education math course.

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to use an industry standard programming language IDE.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to perform calculations using code.
  3. Simplify code by implementing decision structures.
  4. Simplify code by implementing repetition structures.
  5. Create and use lists and dictionaries for working with large amounts of data.
  6. Create and use custom modules with functions and classes.
