Performing Arts
Purpose: For students interested in pursuing professional training, transferring to a four-year institution or gaining personal enrichment by concentrating in music.

Planning Tool: Two-Year Sequence of Courses
AACC faculty developed the following sequence of courses to encourage greater success in each student’s program of study. This sequence incorporates all of the student’s admissions requirements for this degree and provides the student with essential notes to guide their success. It is recommended that students view and save this as they plan courses for this degree.
Arts and Humanities: 6 credits
One arts and humanities general education from the following:
Computer Technology: 4 credits
CTA 100 or CTA 103 meet both the computer technology general education, and computer competency requirements. See General Education Requirements for a list of approved courses.
Program Requirements: 24-28 credits
Choose four ensemble performance courses from the following: 3 credits
Choose three 1-credit applied music courses or one 1-credit and one 2-credit applied music course from the following: 3 credits
1-credit applied music courses
2-credit applied music courses
MUS Electives: 0 - 4 credits
If electives are needed - MUS 142 and applied music and/or ensemble performance courses.
Computer Competency Requirement
See General Education Computer Competency Requirements for a list of approved courses. Students may satisfy the computer competency requirement simultaneously with their computer technology general education requirement.
Diversity Requirement
Students may satisfy the diversity requirement simultaneously as they satisfy the arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, biological and physical sciences or health/fitness/wellness general education requirements or elective requirement.
