Arts and Sciences Transfer, Arts and Humanities, Fine Arts, Art History/Museum Education Option, A.A.

Award: Associate of Arts degree, A.A. (code AA.ART.AH-ME)

Total Credit Hours: A minimum of 60 credit hours.

Purpose: For students interested in pursuing professional training, transferring to a four-year institution or gaining personal enrichment by concentrating in art history.

This sequence incorporates all of the student’s admissions requirements for this degree and provides the student with essential notes to guide their success. General Education Requirements: 31-37 credits

Biological and Physical Sciences: 7-8 credits

Interdisciplinary Studies, Computer Technology or Mathematics: 3-4 credits

See General Education Requirements for a list of approved courses. CTA 100 or CTA 103 recommended.

Health/Fitness/Wellness: 3 credits

Mathematics: 3-4 credits

Social and Behavioral Sciences: 6 credits

Program Requirements: 23 to 29 credits

ART 125 - Drawing 1 3 credit hours
ART 209 - History of Western Art 1 3 credit hours
ART 210 - History of Western Art 2 3 credit hours
Electives (with approval of department chair) 8-14 credit hours
No more than 3 credits of physical activity courses may be used as electives.

Choose additional credits from the following: 6 credits

ART 212 - History of Photography 3 credit hours
ART 219 - History of American Art 3 credit hours
ART 220 - History of Modern Art 3 credit hours
ART 221 - History of World Architecture 1 3 credit hours
