Award: Associate of Arts degree, A.A. (code AA.TRANSFER.STDS)
Total Credit Hours: A minimum of 60 credit hours.
Purpose: For students who have specific educational needs not covered by other areas of study or who wish a general background without heavy coursework in any one program. This program offers flexibility in complying with requirements for transfer to baccalaureate colleges in cases where other areas of study do not do so.

Planning Tool: Two-Year Sequence of Courses
AACC faculty developed the following sequence of courses for each area of concentration within this degree to encourage greater success in each student’s academic experience. These sequences incorporate all of the student’s requirements and provide the student with essential notes to guide their success. It is recommended that students view and save the two-year sequence of courses document as they plan courses for their chosen area of concentration.

Degree Requirements
To assure a level of competency in this program, a minimum of 12 credit hours of courses must be in a single discipline. The three letters used in a course designation (e.g. BIO, ENG, GSS) indicate the discipline to which it belongs. Physical activities courses may not be counted toward an option in physical education.

Refer to the sections below to ensure that diversity, computing and information technology, and general education degree requirements are included in your course selections.
Interdisciplinary Studies, Computer Technology or Mathematics: 3-4 credits

Program Requirements: 23-29 credits
Concentration Requirements: 12 credits
Select a minimum of 12 credits from a single discipline. The three letters used in a course designation (i.e. BIO, ENG, GSS) indicate the discipline to which the course belongs. Physical activities courses may not be used for a concentration.
Established Concentration Options
Electives (consult with an advisor): 11-17 credits
The remaining credit hours needed to achieve a minimum total of 60 credit hours are to be chosen with the approval of an advisor. No more than 3 credits of physical activity courses may be used as electives.
Diversity Requirement
Students may satisfy the diversity requirement simultaneously as they satisfy the arts and humanities, biological and physical sciences, social and behavioral sciences or health/fitness/wellness general education requirements or elective requirements.
