Official Title of Letter of Recognition: Applied Humanities, Letter of Recognition
Award: Letter of Recognition
Total Credit Hours: 12
Purpose: Examine critical questions through 12 credits of seminar-based general education courses, including the Capstone Seminar in Applied Humanities (HUM 270 ); collate an interdisciplinary portfolio of work; participate in and lead seminar-guided learning around transformative texts; engage in student-leadership and ownership of student learning.

Award Requirements
Completion of the required course with a minimum grade of C. Students must apply to the Records and Registration office for the letter of recognition after they have completed the requirements. Requirements: 3 credits
HUM 270 - Capstone Seminar in Applied Humanities Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Letter of Recognition, students will be able to: - Adapt interdisciplinary approaches and critical lenses to address common questions.
- Synthesize connections across disciplines, texts, contexts, and courses.
- Apply the recursive writing process to create a portfolio of work completed across seminar classes.
- Compose interdisciplinary solutions, orally and in writing, using primary and secondary source material.
- Critique answers to common questions and develop a line of inquiry for further research.
- Develop communities of practice through seminar discussion.
- Assess patterns of inquiry across seminar classes through collaborative reflection in creation of the capstone portfolio.
