Purpose: Students planning to use this option should consult with an academic advisor and review the transfer requirements of their intended four‑year institution to ensure appropriate course selection.

This Science Transfer degree is designed for students whose academic and career goals are not fully addressed by the college’s existing science transfer options. This program provides a customizable pathway for students pursuing specialized or emerging fields-such as Nutrition, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or other science‑related disciplines with unique prerequisite requirements. Through guided course selection, students may tailor their degree plan to meet the specific admission or preparatory needs of their intended four‑year program.

Because transfer requirements vary significantly across institutions and majors, students are strongly encouraged to meet with an academic advisor early in their studies. Advisors can help determine whether this flexible degree or one of the established science transfer pathways best aligns with the student’s educational objectives and long‑term goals.

General Education Requirements: 34-36 credits

An approved list of general education courses can be found in the General Education and Diversity, Technology and Wellness Requirements section of the catalog. Choose general education courses from the following topics:

English Composition: 6 credits

ENG 101 - Academic Writing and Research 1 3 credit hours
ENG 102 - Academic Writing and Research 2 3 credit hours
ENG 101 and ENG 101A are equivalent courses. Students may take ENG 101-ENG 102 or ENG 101A-ENG 102 to meet their English Composition General Education requirement.

Arts and Humanities: 6 credits

Students must complete two courses that satisfy the Arts and Humanities General Education requirement.

The first course must be selected from the following: COM 101 , COM 110 , COM 111 , COM 141 , DAN 100 , MUS 100 , THA 111 , ASO, or a World Language course at the 111, 112, or 211 level.
Students may use the second course to satisfy the Diversity Requirement, provided it appears on the approved list. Students may also choose to meet the Diversity Requirement with an approved course in Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Biological and Physical Sciences: 7-8 credits

Select two from the list. One course should be either CHE 111 or PHY 211.

Social and Behavioral Sciences: 6 credits

Students must complete two Social and Behavioral Sciences General Education Courses , each taken from different disciplines.

Students may use one of these courses to satisfy the Diversity Requirement, provided it appears on the approved list. Students may also choose to meet the Diversity Requirement with an approved course in Arts and Humanities.

Additional General Education requirements: 6 Credits

Technology General Education (3 credit hours)

The General Education Technology Requirement is satisfied by CTA 100 , CTA 103 , CTP 115 , CTS 107 , EGR 120 , or UAS 111 .
