ACH 115 - Introduction to Landscape Architecture

4 credit hours - One hour of lecture and six hours of laboratory weekly; one term.
Examine the principles and elements of landscape architecture and their function in the design of the built environment. Focus on site evaluation, design methodology, and the graphic presentation of design solutions and their implementation. Lab fee $20.

Note: Typically offered OL; fall term.

Course Outcomes:
  1. Discuss the landscape design process
  2. Identify landscape design principles, including outdoor space and circulation types, form patterns, common construction elements, design features, and plant materials
  3. Develop a basic site analysis
  4. Use appropriate drawing symbols, plant materials, and color rendering to create landscape design graphics
  5. Construct a landscape design presentation
