ACH 205 - Residential Studio

4 credit hours - One hour of lecture and six hours of laboratory weekly; one term.
Formerly Advanced Residential Studio

Explore the principles and elements of designing complex projects in a residential setting. Learn design applications in today’s environment through lecture and studio. Hand-draft floor plans, apply AutoCAD skills and create sample boards that are portfolio ready. Lab fee $40.

Prerequisite(s): ACH 106  or permission of department chair.

Note: Typically offered OL; fall term.

Course Outcomes:
 

  1. Use standard industry technology to present design strategies
  2. Coordinate a structure’s architectural elements with interior design solutions
  3. Apply knowledge of current lifestyle trends, including differences in rural, small town, suburban, and urban living, to create interior design solutions
  4. Manage complex residential remodeling and restoration projects
