ACH 207 - Portfolio and Visual Presentation for Interior Design3 credit hours - Two hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory weekly; one term. Learn techniques and applications of perspective drawings for interiors, their furnishing and details, taught in various media. Emphasizes portfolio ready presentations and explores, examines and executes the development of a well organized body of work. Lab fee $40.
Prerequisite(s): ACH 106 (formerly ACH 101), ACH 112 , ACH 245 and ART 125 or permission of department chair.
Course Outcomes: - Create a balanced portfolio of current and past interior design and architecture projects
- Asemble all student and professional work
- Consolidate materials to be viewed into simplified formats that are business environment ready
- Audit objectively obsolete and amateur work
- Record electronically past work
- Draw and paint illustrations for interior applications
- Paint interior scenes using a variety of media
- Draw furnishings, room settings, and drapery to be colorized for professional presentation
- Simulate furnishings and drapery for quick illustration through free hand sketching and rendering techniques
- Apply CADD skills for electronic illustration and presentation
- Write resumes for the professional Interior Design environment
- Acquaint self with formatting variables of written communications
- Align criteria to current objectives
- Write documents for the commercial work environment
- Edit language in written communications
- Demonstrate through presentation business appropriate verbal skills
- Participate in role playing of designer/client situations
- Present information to an audience using audio-visual equipment
- Articulate interior design concepts to individuals and committees
