ART 262 - Image & Design

3 credit hours - Two hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory weekly; one term.
Formerly ART 117 - Digital Imaging

Learn design principles, concepts, and processes used by artists and designers to create digital imagery. Develop the skills to conceptualize, manipulate, and design digital images for a variety of media including print and online. Explore contemporary digital culture and history while producing original design portfolio projects. Lab fee $40.

Prerequisite(s): ART 106 , or permission of department chair.

Note: Typically offered at MC and OL; spring term.

Course Outcomes:
  1. Create original works of art using design software.
  2. Create and edit digital imagery using design software.
  3. Create presentations, portfolios, and posters for print and online formats.
  4. Interpret digital images used in mass media today.
  5. Analyze the aesthetic quality of digital works of art.
  6. Analyze different digital design fields, technologies and processes.
