ART 262 - Image & Design3 credit hours - Two hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory weekly; one term. Formerly ART 117 - Digital Imaging
Learn design principles, concepts, and processes used by artists and designers to create digital imagery. Develop the skills to conceptualize, manipulate, and design digital images for a variety of media including print and online. Explore contemporary digital culture and history while producing original design portfolio projects. Lab fee $40.
Prerequisite(s): ART 106 , or permission of department chair.
Note: Typically offered at MC and OL; spring term.
Course Outcomes:
- Create original works of art using design software.
- Create and edit digital imagery using design software.
- Create presentations, portfolios, and posters for print and online formats.
- Interpret digital images used in mass media today.
- Analyze the aesthetic quality of digital works of art.
- Analyze different digital design fields, technologies and processes.
