BPA 119 - Global Business

3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term.
An examination of international trade and multinational business in the expanding global economy. Explore foundational competencies specific to cultural diversities and social norms, varied legal and regulatory environments, and divergent business practices and expectations. Survey the economic, financial and cultural environments in which international business operates.

Note: Typically offered at MC and OL; fall and spring terms.

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Demonstrate an understanding of business in different cultures and the impact of geography on business practices.

2. Analyze the relationship of global business to various constructs including governments, political structures, economic systems, and legal frameworks.

3. Explain how managers deal with the different forces affecting international business, including product differentiation, strategy and operations.

4. Discuss the role of regulatory agencies and operations on international trade and the global monetary system.

5. Examine and evaluate the structure of multinational corporations.
