BPA 141 - Office Procedures and Technology

3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term.
Study current office procedures, duties, and responsibilities applicable to an administrative professional in an office environment. Topics include: records management, meeting and travel arrangements, effective communication, organizational structure, and professional image.

Note: Typically offered OL; fall and spring terms.

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Describe the professional role and responsibilities of the administrative professional in the 21st century.
  2. Use effective written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Evaluate, demonstrate, and use common office procedures and technologies.
  4. Develop workplace problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  5. Employ office financial procedures.
