BPA 241 - Intermediate Accounting 13 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. Focus on the comprehensive study of accounting principles, theory and practice as they relate to financial statements. Examine income measurement and its effect on the valuation of assets and equity, accounting for current assets, long-term assets, current liabilities and long-term liabilities, and analysis and interpretation of financial statements.
Prerequisite(s): BPA 202 .
Note: Typically offered at MC and OL; fall, spring, and summer terms.
Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate proficiency in the application of accounting terminology, principles, and framework to business organizations.
- Solve complex accounting problems related to service and merchandising operations.
- Prepare detailed financial statements, including required footnotes and disclosures, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Analyze and interpret financial statements.
