BPA 264 - Advanced Tax Accounting3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. Study federal tax law for property transactions, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts as it impacts the entity and its owners. Examine concepts, then apply those concepts through the completion of situational problems, not through the preparation of tax forms.
Prerequisite(s): BPA 262 .
Note: Typically offered at MC; spring term.
Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Apply the federal tax law as it applies to property transactions.
2. Analyze and apply the federal tax law as it applies to partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
3. Solve accounting problems related to federal taxation of partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
4. Develop and apply appropriate tax planning and avoidance strategies for individuals and entities.
5. Apply tax research methods to complex tax situations.
