CTP 194 - Ethics and the Information Age

This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement. 

Analyze ethics and moral philosophy as a means for providing a framework for ethically grounded decision making in the information age.

Prerequisite(s): Eligibility for ENG 101 /ENG 101A .

Course Outcomes:

  1. Explain concepts and theories behind establishing a moral system and ethical judgement.
  2. Apply ethical aspects to issues in computer and data security.
  3. Analyze issues involving privacy and personal autonomy.
  4. Extrapolate the concept of intellectual property to cyberspace.
  5. Appraise implications of the information age on community, social justice, and the public interest.
  6. Evaluate existing codes of professional conduct in the computer technology industry.
