CTS 234 - Windows Server

4 credit hours - Four hours of lecture and directed laboratory weekly; one term.
Learn the skills needed to install and configure Windows Server.  Develop an in-depth knowledge of Windows Server features and services, including Active Directory, Identity Services, User and Computer accounts, Group Policy, and Certificate Services. Manage security, system backup, and network services such as DNS and DHCP.  Lab fee $2.

Prerequisite(s): CTS 110 .

Note: Typically offered at MC and OL; fall, spring, and summer terms.

Course Outcomes:

1. Describe the role of a server operating system and Windows Server core technologies

2. Plan a Windows Server installation, including installing the first server on a new network and expanding an existing network

3. Configure and manage Windows Server 

4.  Configure storage and files systems

5. Implement virtualization, manage, and optimize virtual machines 

6. Configure and manage group policies

7. Implement Active Directory Certificate Services

8. Implement Identity Solutions
