HUS 114 - Counseling, Assessment and Case Management3 credit hours - three hours weekly; one-term. Examine professionalism in the counseling field, including professional ethics and legal duties. Identify the components of a helping relationship. Explore counseling and case management skills and techniques. Demonstrate communication skills that enhance the exchange of information including multicultural interviewing techniques. Apply assessment and the subsequent treatment planning skills associated with case management and counseling. Determine and evaluate outcome goals for intervention.
Prerequisite(s): HUS 101 and HUS 141 .
Corequisite(s): HUS 115 or permission of department chair.
