ARB 211 - Intermediate Arabic 13 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement.
Build upon knowledge acquired in ARB 112 . Enhance understanding of basic pronunciation and grammar necessary for reading, writing and conversing in Arabic.
Prerequisite(s): ARB 112 or two years of high school Arabic or permission of department chair.
Note: Not for native speakers. Typically offered at MC and OL; fall and spring terms.
Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Use Modern Standard Arabic grammatical structures correctly in oral and written communication.
2. Use vocabulary in the target language correctly in oral and written communication.
3. Read Modern Standard Arabic.
4. Discuss aspects of Arab and Middle Eastern culture.
