FRE 211 - Intermediate French 1

3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term.
This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement. 

Build vocabulary and grammar skills for the purpose of reading, writing, listening and speaking. Discuss aspects of French culture.

Prerequisite(s): FRE 112  or two years of high school French or permission of department chair.

Crosslisted: Also offered as FRE 211H ; credit not given for both FRE 211 and FRE 211H .

Note: Not for native speakers. Typically offered at MC; fall and spring terms.

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Use French grammatical structures correctly.

2. Write clear sentences in French.

3. Communicate ideas orally using simple language construction.

4. Interpret oral and written French.

5. Identify the various cultures whose native language is French.

6. Create a personal vocabulary to effectively communicate in French.
