HEB 113 - Elementary Biblical Hebrew 13 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement.
Develop vocabulary and grammar skills for reading and writing Biblical Hebrew.
Note: This course is not designed to teach spoken modern Hebrew. It focuses solely on reading, writing, and translating biblical (ancient) Hebrew.
Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Use biblical Hebrew grammatical structures correctly at a high elementary level.
2. Use level-appropriate vocabulary in the target language.
3. Read and write in the target language at a high elementary level.
4. Translate biblical Hebrew at a high elementary level.
5. Discuss elements of Hebrew and non-Hebrew civilizations of the ancient Middle East.
