URD 111 - Elementary Urdu 1

3 credit hours - Three hours lecture weekly; one term.
This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement.

Develop an understanding of basic pronunciation and grammar necessary for reading, writing, and speaking in Urdu. Not for those who have experience with the Urdu language.

Note: Not for native speakers.

Course Outcomes:

Demonstrate correct usage of Modern Standard Urdu grammatical structures
Use elementary vocabulary in the target language

Discuss aspects of Pakistani and South Asian culture
