CTS 216 - Network Forensics4 credit hours - Four hours of lecture and directed laboratory weekly; one term. Explore analysis concepts in network forensic investigations. Monitor, capture, and analyze network activity using industry standard tools and methods. Preserve volatile and dynamic information transmitted across computer networks. Investigate network packets, logs, and memory for the purpose of linking the information to a source of potential network attack. Lab fee $2.
Prerequisite or Corequisite: CTS 140 .
Note: Typically offered OL; fall and spring terms.
Course Outcomes:
- Apply knowledge of computer systems and network protocols to identify potential network attacks.
- Conduct network forensic investigations using industry standard tools and methods.
- Perform investigative reconstruction in a network environment.
- Conduct post-incident remediation and prevention activities.
