FRE 111H - Elementary French 1 - Honors

3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term.
This is an honors course.

This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement. 

Learn basic pronunciation and grammar necessary for reading, writing and conversing in French. Not for those who have experience with the French language.

Crosslisted: Also offered as FRE 111 ; credit not given for both FRE 111  and FRE 111H.

Note: Not for native speakers. Typically offered at MC and OL; fall and spring terms.

Course Outcomes:
 

1. Demonstrate correct usage of French grammatical structures.

2. Write clear sentences in French.

3. Communicate ideas orally using simple language construction.

4. Demonstrate comprehension of oral and written French.

5. Gain an appreciation of the various cultures whose native language is French.

6. Demonstrate interpretive skills in reading, writing, and speaking.

7. Create a personal vocabulary to effectively communicate in French.
