HIS 114 - World Civilizations Since 15003 credit hours - Three hours lecture weekly; one term.
This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement. This course meets the Social and Behavioral Sciences General Education Requirement.
Explore the past and its impact on the present and the future. Examine global history from the Reformation to World War II to evaluate the networks and interactions that connected Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Analyze societal changes and continuities in culture, politics, economics, and diplomacy.
Prerequisite(s): Eligibility for ENG 101/ENG 101A.
Note: Typically offered at MC and OL; fall, spring, and summer terms.
Course Outcomes:
1. Apply methods of historical analysis and research to understand the past in its proper context.
2. Identify key historians and analyze their historical theories.
3. Evaluate differing historical theories and apply them to the human condition.
