ART 260 - Video 2

3 credit hours - Two hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory weekly; one term.
Build on knowledge and skills acquired in ART 160 . Study hands on pre-production, production, post production, studio production and distribution through the creation of original videos. Lab fee $55.

Prerequisite(s): ART 160  or permission of department chair.

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain major formal, aesthetic, and conceptual applications of video in contemporary art.
  2. Place video art in an historic context.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of video editing techniques and the ways in which they can enhance an image.
  4. Formulate a personal visual aesthetic.
  5. Work independently and in groups to create original video projects.
  6. Develop skills for critical discussion and analysis of one’s own work and the work of others.
