DAN 112 - Beginning Ballet 2

2 credit hours - One hour of lecture and two hours of studio weekly; one term.
Continuation of the study of fundamentals of classical ballet with an emphasis on alignment, centering and coordination of ballet movements. May be repeated once for a total of four credit hours.

Prerequisite(s): DAN 111  or permission of department chair.

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Build ballet vocabulary and techniques.
  2. Demonstrate correct placement and alignment.
  3. Apply basic corrections given in class.
  4. Improve strength, flexibility, and coordination.
  5. Explain the significance of Romantic and Classical Ballets.
