MUS 152 - Class Voice 2

2 credit hours - One hour of lecture and two hours of studio weekly; one term.
A continuation of MUS 151  with emphasis on voice production and technical proficiency. Students build a repertoire of songs in English, French, German and Italian representing various styles and periods.

Prerequisite(s): MUS 151  or permission of department chair.

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Review and strengthen/mastery of foundational content in Class Voice.
  2. Increase skills in notation, technique, diction, and performance practice.
  3. Increase skills in technical work/vocal exercises.
  4. Develop proficiency in all major and minor scales.
  5. Increase skills in sight reading.
  6. Performance of selected repertoire: classical, jazz, and commercial/popular.
