About Cybersecurity, Networking and Digital Forensics Department
Purpose: Learn to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size router and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. Includes basic mitigation of security threats, introduction to wireless networking concepts, and hands-on, performance-based skills. Further, it prepares students to sit for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

Certificate Graduation Requirements
To graduate with a certificate, students must have demonstrated eligibility for ENG 111 or ENG 115 . See Academic Regulations for all Graduation Requirements.
Certificate Requirements: 16 credits
Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Configure a router, manage Cisco IOS software, configuring routing protocols on routers, and set the access lists to control the access to routers.
- Use advanced IP addressing techniques (Variable Length Subnet Masking [VLSM]), intermediate routing protocols (RIP v2, single-area OSPF, EIGRP), command-line interface configuration of switches, ehternet switching, virtual LANs (VLANs), spanning tree protocol (STP), and VLAN trunking protocol (VTP).
- Use advanced Internet protocol (IP) addressing techniques (Network Address Translation [NAT], port address translation [PAT]) and dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), wide area network (WAN) technology and terminology, point-to-point protocol (PPP), integrated services digital network (ISDN), dial-on-demand routing (DDR), frame relay, network management, and optical networking.
- Sit for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exam.
