About Business Administration Department

Purpose: This program provides the knowledge and skills required for an entry-level accountant. Emphasis is on the practical approach to public accounting. It prepares the student for the Comprehensive Examination for Accreditation in Accountancy.

Additional Program Requirements

Completion of each of the required courses with a grade of C or better.

Certificate Graduation Requirements

To graduate with a certificate, students must have demonstrated eligibility for ENG 111  or ENG 115 .  See Academic Regulations for all Graduation Requirements.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Perform the basic functions to complete the accounting cycle.
  • Analyze financial statements and identify trends.
  • Perform the basic accounting functions utilizing computer applications.
  • Examine internal financial data to improve and enhance decision making.
  • Analyze and reports on manufacturing and detailed inventory data.
  • Examine internal operations to determine the appropriate level of control.
  • Apply appropriate business law concepts to typical business operations and interactions.
  • Apply U.S. tax laws and rules to business organizations.
  • Apply managerial finance concepts and maintain appropriate ethical standards.
