Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
1. Explain the historical development of Human Services.
2. Apply their understanding of diverse cultures to address the needs of culturally diverse groups.
3. Discuss how individuals, groups, families, organizations, communities and societies interact.
4. Perform the administrative aspects of service delivery.
5. Assess clients, design and implement specific and measurable goals.
6. Evaluate the conditions which promote or limit human functioning in the major human system.
7. Use basic counseling skills, techniques and social work practices in order to facilitate client services.
8. Identify client problems needing advocacy, community resources available to assist clients, and coordinate care through integration of services.
9. Use appropriate interpersonal skills with clients and team members and demonstrate professional behaviors.
10. Promote ethical practice by applying human services values and attitudes.
11. Articulate their own values, personalities, reaction patterns, interpersonal styles, limitations and self-care practices.
12. Show evidence of haing completed 300 hours of fieldwork with Human Services Department approved fieldwork agencies.
13. Apply classroom learning to experiences in the field.
