About the Business Administration Department
Purpose: Provides the first two years of coursework for students planning to transfer to a bachelor’s degree program at a four-year college or university majoring in business. Students with a bachelor’s degree who are preparing for the Maryland CPA exam should note requirements under the Financial Accounting (certificate) (CPA preparation) program.
Additional Program Requirements
A program consisting of a core of courses essential for all business transfer students. Students are expected to work with their advisors to tailor a suitable mix of electives in order to meet the requirements of their intended transfer college.

Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: - Describe the components of a changing global business environment.
- Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to develop quantitative and ethically-based accounting decisions.
- Apply economic information to business decisions.
- Demonstrate the use of analytical tools and technology that supports business practices.
- Identify, evaluate, and analyze contractual disputes utilizing legal theories.
This program aligns with all the college’s core competencies. Transferring Credits to Maryland Public Four-Year Schools
Maryland public four-year colleges and universities accept a minimum of 60 and as many as 70 credits earned toward an associate degree from a Maryland public community college. Students planning to transfer should consult with an AACC academic and transfer advisor; and are advised to obtain permission from the four-year college or university when planning to transfer credits beyond the minimum degree requirements at AACC. More than 70 credits earned at AACC may be transferred if outlined within an established transfer agreement. Current transfer agreements can be found on the AACC Transfer Partners webpage.
