CTS 230-Networking 34 credit hours – Three hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory weekly; one term. Describe the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in large and complex networks. Explain how small-to-medium networks use VLANs and STP technologies. Configure routers and switches for advanced functionality using technologies such as LAN redundancy and link aggregation. Employ commonly used dynamic routing protocols, such as OSPF and EIGRP. Demonstrate how to configure and resolve common issues with OSPF, multi-area OSPF, and EIGRP in both IPv4 and IPv6 networks. Lab fee $100.
Prerequisite(s): CTS 131 with a grade of “C” or better or permission of the CTS department chair.
