DHY 204 - Dental Hygiene Pharmacology2 credit hours - Two hours lecture weekly; one term.
Examine basic pharmaceutical medicine related to the practice of dental hygiene. Discuss general principles, medications that alter dental treatment, and dental hygiene considerations. Describe drugs that are commonly used in dentistry and potential adverse reactions, characteristics and mechanisms of drug actions, pharmacokinetics, clinical pharmacokinetics, and routes of administration.
Prerequisite(s): DHY 110 , DHY 112 , DHY 114 , DHY 116 , and DHY 118 with a grade of C or better in each course.
Corequisite(s): DHY 200 , DHY 202 , and DHY 206 .
