EDU 205 - Engagement Coaching Course V: Impact3 credit hours - Three hours lecture weekly, one term Apply new tools and activities in the coaching process. Demonstrate an elevated level of professional coaching standards and impact. Integrate a complete range of coaching skills learned in the previous Engagement Coaching courses (EDU 201 , EDU 202 , and EDU 203 ).
Prerequisite(s): EDU 203 with a grade of C or better or permission of department chair.
Note: Note: For participants interested in becoming an International Coach Federation (ICF) certified coach, this 3-credit course fulfills the fifth course requirement of the 125-hour coach-specific training requirement for the ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) ACTP pathway. To become a certified coach, the participant must complete EDU 201 , EDU 202 , EDU 203 , EDU 204 , and EDU 205 and pass a performance evaluation along with the additional ICF requirements stated in the ACC credentialing ACTP pathway. Typically offered OL; fall and spring terms.
Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Integrate all components of the Engagement Coaching Model to support all clients, small groups and teams.
- Identify and acknowledge the client’s unique talents and behaviors during the coaching process.
- Apply culturally sensitive coaching practices that consider power, privilege and culture
- Demonstrate and enhance coaching dispositions such as confidence, curiosity and intuition.
- Apply coaching tools and activities to evaluate mindset and integrate new and deepened awareness, insight, and learning.
- Support the client as they identify themes and patterns in their own life.
- Demonstrate ethical guidelines and professional standards that apply to all coaching situations
- Apply a written feedback tool to coaching situations
- Promote ongoing and sustainable development of both coach and client to reaffirm goals and accountabilities that stimulate action
