This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement.
Examine world architectural styles from the Renaissance through the present. Learn architectural design, landscape architecture, and city planning as responses to religious, political, economic, and cultural needs. No previous art courses are necessary.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify major styles, theories, architects, and architectural works from the Renaissance through the twentieth century.
- Interpret architecture as expressions of an individual’s and a culture’s definitions, values, and ideas.
- Apply the vocabulary, methods, materials and concepts of architecture to articulate to responses to architecture as artistic or cultural expression.
