ART 112 - Introduction to Sound Design

3 credit hours - Two hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory weekly; one term.
Learn the basics of recording, mixing, and post-processing, as well as the creative possibilities and applications of sound. Gain an understanding of the practical and theoretical skills central to using sound as an artistic medium. Lab fee $35.

Course Outcomes:
1. Apply technical knowledge of audio hardware and software to the production of works of art.

2. Apply skills for critical discussion and analysis to one’s own work and the work of others.

4. Investigate how other artists make use of sound and related media to create their work.
