ART 180 - Introduction to Film3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement.
Study of the vocabulary, methods of analysis and standards for criticism of various types of film. Participate in class discussions based on assigned films.

Course Outcomes:
- Discuss orally and in writing aesthetic dimensions of film;
- Discuss orally and in writing technical language of cinema;
- Discuss orally and in writing films, genres and movements in certain historical, political, aesthetic and ideological contexts;
- Discuss orally and in writing the application of critical theories to films.
