ART 202 - Life Drawing3 credit hours - Two hours of lecture and two hours of studio weekly; one term. Learn how to draw the human figure. Study the skeleton and muscles and how they affect surface anatomy. Explore expressive possibilities of the figure by extensive drawing of the nude. Study the history of the figure. Lab fee $50.
Prerequisite(s): ART 125 or permission of department.

Course Outcomes:
- Visually express through line, shape, value, and texture the character of the human figure;
- Visually express the human figure in a variety of styles and techniques;
- Visually express aspects of anatomy relevant to artists;
- Visually express how perspective operates on the figure;
- Visually express how the figure may be used conceptually and / or expressively in an artwork;
- Verbally articulate the formal elements of figure drawing;
- Critically analyze figure drawings based on knowledge of the formal elements;
- Discuss the historical context and importance of figure drawing.
